This #GivingTuesday, Support the Children and Young Adults Who Participate in Vital Clinical Research at the NIH

The coronavirus pandemic has pushed clinical research into the limelight, and it is our best hope to effectively end this pandemic. As a result, the greater public is starting to understand how clinical trials truly work. After all, they have played a crucial role in our lives. Clinical research has resulted in vaccines and pioneering treatments for cancer, sickle cell, and even the seasonal flu. But it takes more than our dedicated medical experts to bring about these new successes. The other part of the story is the brave humans who volunteer for these studies and trials and who have paved the way for medical advances for all of us.

At The Children’s Inn at NIH, we are lucky to be at the forefront of world-class, medical research. Our mission is to provide a home to children, young adults, and their families, who participate in pediatric research studies at the National Institutes of Health’s Clinical Center, the world’s largest hospital dedicated entirely to research. Our purpose is to reduce their burdens through a supportive environment including therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming.

Since we opened our doors 30 years ago, we have served nearly 15,000 children and young adults from all 50 states and more than 104 countries. These brave individuals have greatly contributed to a wide range of medical discoveries and breakthroughs that have brought us effective treatments for HIV/AIDS, childhood leukemia, mental health issues, and serious genetic diseases.

This is why on this #GivingTuesday we are asking for your help more than ever. We want you to be part of our mission. Your generosity will certainly speak volumes during this crucial and challenging time in our history. With the pandemic, we are taking additional precautionary measures to keep seriously ill children, young adults, and their families safe, as they are an especially vulnerable population. Here are some simple, impactful, and fun ways to make a difference:

BE HOPEFUL:

  • Give the Gift of Hope by making a one-time donation or sign up to be a monthly supporter with a recurring donation.

BE INN-VOLVED:
